Y.O.Y Changes in Key Golfer Segments
Driven in part by the coronavirus pandemic, the number of active, on-course golfers in the U.S. grew by half a million in 2020, up to 24.8 million. It was the most significant YOY net increase since 2003. The junior golfer pool (ages 6-17) experienced its biggest YOY increase (25%) since 1997. More than 3.1 million kids took to the golf course at least once in 2020, the second-highest total in the past decade.
