Since the U.S. golf market reached peak supply in the mid-2000s, the number of golf courses (as measured in 18-hole equivalents) has dipped about 11%. During this ongoing correction, more courses have closed than opened in the U.S. every year since 2006 -- a point in time that coincides with the burst of the housing bubble.
