U.S. Golf Course Closure Trend
The number of golf course closures has declined significantly in recent years, with fewer than 90 18-hole equivalent closures in 2023 being the fewest since 2004 -- prior to the Great Recession. The most recent closure total is less than a third of the record high in 2019, just prior to the coronavirus pandemic.
