Trend in Proportion of Female Golfers
In recent years, the proportion of females among the green grass participant base has continued to rise incrementally. Women and girls now make up more than one quarter of all on-course golfers -- the highest on record. On the heels of the Great Recession, about 20% of golfers were female. That proportion has, for the most part, risen slightly or remained generally stable for much of the past decade.
