Total U.S. Golf Participation Trend
Overall golf participation topped 40 million in the U.S. for the first time in 2022 -- when factoring both those who engage with on- and off-course forms of the game. NGF began tracking off-course participation in the mid-2000's and the impact has been increasingly significant with the proliferation of offerings and availability. Over the past decade, total participation has increased by 40%. While on-course participation has seen a slight uptick in recent years, the growth in total participation has been predominantly driven by off-course-only participant gains.
