The definition of golfer has evolved in recent years to provide a broader view of the overall consumer base. Golf participation, too, is evolving. There are three distinct groups of golfers, those who: play on-course golf only play off-course forms of golf only play both on- and off-course golf With the proliferation of off-course forms of golf -- golf entertainment and simulator venues in addition to traditional standalone driving ranges -- these participant pools have gotten increasingly more balanced.
