A Special Message...

…from NGF President and CEO Joe Beditz

Besides giving golf a very significant boost, the pandemic also has inspired lots of changes in the way golf businesses operate. NGF is no exception. In the spring of 2020 we began sending out regular updates on how the golf business was doing … from COVID related course shutdowns (and re-openings) to rounds played and golf equipment sales. We kept our messages brief and to the point.

The response and feedback we received were exceptionally motivating and helped us rethink both our research priorities and how we delivered our findings. Having learned that quick bursts of data-driven insight was what most of our readers were interested in, we established a bi-weekly cadence to our messages and branded them “Fortnight.”

At the same time, we undertook a major redesign of our primary communication platform, www.ngf.org. During a soft launch of the site over the past couple of months we’ve heard from our testers that it is very easy to navigate and offers a treasure trove of interesting and useful information.

Going forward, when Fortnight is delivered to our industry readership every other Thursday, they’ll be directed to click through to our website to read the complete message (it’s free as always). Here you will find all the previous issues of Fortnight, data-rich ‘Spotlight’ stories with insider perspective, research reports, PowerPoint presentations, proprietary databases, interactive maps and much more. Varying levels of access to our expanding library of golf business resources now form the basis of NGF’s membership offerings.

I want to thank the 70,000+ golf business leader-readers who receive these industry communiques for your time and interest in our work here at the National Golf Foundation. And a very special ‘thank you’ to our members, without whose support our work would not be possible. If you are not yet a member, we sincerely hope you consider joining our growing community.

Here’s wishing all of you a great 2022 golf season.
