Rounds Played by Age Group
While young adults (ages 18 to 34) comprise the largest proportion of green-grass golfers of any age group, at 6.3 million Americans, they don't play with the frequency of senior golfers. This is likely intuitive, as younger golfers may have the interest but not the time, money or opportunity to play golf as often as the 65+ crowd, more than two-thirds of whom are retired. Many of the latter may live in golf course communities and Sunbelt states with a greater likelihood of year-round golf weather.
