Par 3’s Have Record Representation Among 2023 Openings
Golf is experiencing a short course movement… of sorts. If it seems like Par 3 courses are increasingly common among new course openings, that’s because they are. Especially relative to their positioning among overall U.S. supply. Last year, short courses accounted for almost half (47%) of all new courses. Over the past five years, Par 3 courses have comprised 34% of openings. Overall, however, Par 3 courses make up 5% of U.S. supply, with just over 700 in total.
