New U.S. Golf Course Openings by State
There have been just under 100 brand new course openings over the past five years, with 37% within the states of Florida and Texas. These projects don't include full reconstructions or rebuilds that were built on the footprint of a previously existing course, although many of these are entirely new courses. While Florida and Texas lead all states by a wide margin in recent new course openings, they also have about 20% of the current projects in development (under construction or in planning).
