Latent Demand Trend
Interest in green-grass golf among non-golfers has seen a notable rise over the past decade or so, boosted most recently not only by the pandemic but by a favorable narrative around golf and the proliferation of off-course forms of the game. This self-reported interest is categorized as "latent demand." While more than 21 million non-golfers said they were "very interested" in playing on a course, even more express an interest in playing off-course forms of the game -- such as at golf entertainment venues like Topgolf.
