June 2019 National Rounds Played Report
Total rounds played in June 2019 were unchanged from a year ago, though play was actually up in six of the eight geographic regions nationwide. Because June is traditionally one of the heaviest months for play, along with July and August, the national year-to-date total actually improved slightly and is down -1% at the midpoint of the calendar year.
Increases in the Pacific (particularly Oregon, Washington and Hawaii) and Mountain regions (notably Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico and Nevada) helped offset a 6.9% drop in June rounds in the South Central.
In the South Atlantic region, June rounds were virtually unchanged from 2018 despite golf-rich states Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas all reporting notable declines due to increased precipitation. However, states like Virginia, Maryland , Delaware and West Virginia all saw notable double-digit increases.
