January 2018 National Rounds Played
January National Rounds Played Report 2018
National rounds played were down 5.4% in January 2018 compared to the same period a year ago. Temperatures in the South Central and South Atlantic regions were down roughly 10 degrees, likely contributing to fewer rounds in those regions.
Rounds were up in the Pacific and Mountain regions due to warmer temperatures and lower precipitation, helping to offset the overall decline.
Like other winter months, January accounts for only about 3% of annual rounds, thus its impact on total annual rounds is relatively negligible.
There will be plenty of opportunity to make up the January deficit in 2018. Rounds performance in the Spring and Summer months, which comprise a much greater percentage of total rounds played, will set the tone for the rest of year.
Short Game.
