That total is almost 1% of the nearly $485 billion in total U.S. charitable giving from individuals, bequests, foundations and corporations, according to the Annual Report on Philanthropy from Giving USA. It’s estimated that more than 141,000 separate charity events were held at golf courses around the country, with approximately 80% of all U.S. facilities hosting at least one.
