Golfer Avidity Trends
Over the past decade, the number of Core golfers (those who play 8-or-more rounds annually) has dipped by about 1 million. In 2022, the number of Occasional golfers (playing 1-7 rounds a year) surpassed the pool of Core golfers for the first time since it was first measured about four decades ago. In addition, the average number of rounds played by Core golfers is higher than a decade ago.
