Golf Instruction Participation by Age
When it comes to the greatest volume of lessons-taken, juniors lead the way by a fairly comfortable margin with more than 10 million in total. Almost 40% of the 3.5 million golfers between the ages of 6 and 17 took some kind of instruction, which is somewhat intuitive with the abundance of youth development programs and golf camps. But the largest group of lesson-takers is in the 18-34 age group, with nearly 1.5 million in total. This represented almost one quarter of this age cohort.
