Golf Course Improvement & Investment
The bulk of investment in golf comes not from new courses and construction, rather money being pumped into improving existing facilities. Over the past five years alone, well over $4 billion has been invested in the game's most important product: the more than 16,000 golf courses nationwide. This annualized spend, on the golf course alone, breaks out to over $860 million per year. Some outsized (and expensive) renovation projects are countered by those facilities that undertake very minor work or, in the minority, no improvements at all.
