Female Representation Among On-Course Golfers
Women and girls now account for one-quarter of the overall on-course golfer pool. The noteworthy increase since 1997 is driven predominantly by the number of girls playing almost tripling. This proportion of female golfers has also climbed from 20% immediately following the financial crisis. At that time, the participation rate among women had dipped as the number of two-income households increased, budgets tightened and discretionary spending was more limited because of the Great Recession.
