Arccos Golf develops game-changing connected golf products. The company’s focus is to revolutionize  the golfing experience by integrating automatic shot tracking with Artificial Intelligence to deliver unparalleled insights that help players maximize their potential.

A pioneer of big data, Arccos’ on-course data set now boasts nearly 600 million shots taken during 13 million rounds played by Arccos members in 162 countries. Those shots have been combined with other data streams to create a total dataset of more than 350 billion unique data points. These are being leveraged across R&D, marketing, clubfitting, instruction, retail and media programs by Arccos partners, which now include PING, TaylorMade, Cobra Golf, Srixon/Cleveland Golf, Club Champion, Tour Experience Golf, Me And My Golf, Golf Digest and others.

Arccos’ flagship Arccos Caddie system features 14 ultralight smart sensors – one for each potential club in the bag – that are attached or embedded in each club grip and paired with a smartphone app to automatically track and analyze player performance. In 2020, Arccos expanded its product line when it released the Link, a wearable that allows users to track their shots without having to use their phone.

Arccos captures thousands of data points during every round and, perhaps most importantly, is able to do that without changing a golfer’s routine or being intrusive on the course. The system combines automatic shot tracking, advanced GPS, and advanced analytics via a personalized Strokes Gained model. This allows users to quickly receive insights about their true averages with each club, which club to use in specific situations, and a detailed breakdown of their exact strengths and weaknesses.

The intended end-result is smarter decisions and lower scores. To date, the average Arccos Caddie member improves their handicap by 5.78 strokes in the first year.

While attending Yale Business School, Arccos co-founder and CEO Sal Syed realized that amateur golfers lacked a comprehensive tool to track and analyze their games. Combining his love for golf and data, Syed and his co-founders incorporated Arccos in 2012. Two years later, Arccos launched its first GPS-based, hardware and software system.

Arccos technology helps golfers improve through the use of data and analytics.

The Arccos Caddie artificial intelligence platform was first launched in 2017 and was developed in partnership with Microsoft. The Arccos Caddie shows players their personalized optimal strategy on nearly every hole in the world whether the user has played that course before or not. The platform takes into account the user’s personal performance, the shot history of other Arccos Caddie Users, altitude and weather conditions.

In 2022, the Arccos platform received its seventh consecutive Golf Digest Editors Choice Award in the “Best in Swing & Game Analyzers” category.

“Receiving this award seven years running is a testament to the incredible work of our engineering, data science and A.I. teams,” said Syed. “With every new product and feature release, we’re striving to accelerate the innovation curve to help golfers of all skill levels play smarter and shoot lower scores.”

“They’ve pioneered the game tracking category and are recognized as the clear leader when it comes to providing on-course ‘caddie advice,’ performance tracking, and post-round analysis,” said PING Golf CEO John K. Solheim.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

Arccos has been an unquestioned pioneer in the golf technology space, bringing in-depth and engaging shot-tracking capabilities and advanced analytics to amateurs.

The company’s partnerships with Cobra, TaylorMade, PING, and Srixon/Cleveland are significant developments in the integrated golf club technology space. Golf Pride, meanwhile, is the exclusive provider of the Arccos Smart Grip.

ShotLink has had a massive impact on the PGA TOUR. Arccos is doing the same for everyday golfers and the benefits are multitude in the golf equipment spectrum: from smarter club decisions on the course to a more intelligent custom-fitting experience by augmenting the data captured in a hitting bay.
