Beginners vs Golfer Gains
In each of the past six years, more than 2.5 million beginners have played golf on a course for the first time. The past three years have seen more than 3 million beginners, including a record 3.3 million in 2022. While new trials are imperative for growth, there's been a net gain of only 1.8 million golfers in total over the past six years. It's indicative of the issues the industry continues to have when it comes to retention and converting trials into committed golfers.
