Annual Distribution of Rounds Played
There's almost as much golf played in the U.S. during one four-month stretch -- the summer months of May through August -- as the rest of the year combined. Seasonality and weather obviously has a significant impact on golf, which is the nation's No. 1 pay-t0-play outdoor sport. While many states in the Sun Belt have a year-round golf season, many in the Frost Belt are fully or partially limited over the first four months of the year.
