Annual Difference Between U.S. Course Openings/Closings
Since the supply correction began in 2006, there have been more than 2,200 18-hole equivalent closures -- a decline of 12% in overall supply. Prior to that, more than 4,000 18-HEQ courses opened from 1987 to 2005, resulting in a 42% supply increase that precipitated the current market correction.
