Travel Plans for Core Golfers
More than 4 out of 5 Core golfers surveyed by NGF in late 2021 said they expect to take a golf-related trip in 2022. Given that Core golfers (defined as those who play at least 8 rounds of golf annually) comprise more than half of the U.S. golf population, this suggests upwards of 10 million will play golf while traveling on an overnight trip away from home in 2022. The average number of expected golf trips also saw a notable increase, as travel limitations in recent years have heightened the interest to get away.
