2021 Play Looks to Finish on December Upswing
Early returns on December play show rounds to be up solidly over 2020 and well ahead of the three-year average from 2017-19. The findings are based on initial feedback from facility operators nationwide, with indications that year-end play should finish up between 5% and 6% over 2020. This final push would yield an increase of more than 25 million rounds in total for 2021 over last year, when play surged throughout the second half after pandemic-related operational restrictions were lifted. What's notable is that December 2020 rounds had been up 37% over 2019. December is a relatively low-volume month for play, typically accounting for less than 5% of annual rounds. ...
