Beginners and Professional Instruction
Beginning golfers receive professional golf instruction almost as frequently as they get swing tips or advice from friends or family members. However, there's a significant difference in terms of effectiveness. Those newcomers who took some kind of formalized instruction from a certified PGA professional or similarly-trained pro are more than twice as likely to become a committed golfer than someone who relies on their own circle. The "why" of playing golf is also important. Being pushed by someone else is far less conducive to creating a long-time golfer than someone who chooses the golf consumer pathway on their own.
