This comprehensive report released by the R&A is intended to help further educate golfers, non-golfers, golf governing bodies and policy makers in government and health on the physical and mental benefits of the sport for people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds. These health-enhancing benefits are detailed and summarized through data, graphics and imagery – from calories burned and average distance walked while playing golf to socializing with family and friends. Also included are in-depth case studies that highlight the impact of collective endeavors within the industry. The report and its research through the Golf & Health Project was supported by the World Golf Foundation, United States Golf Association and the European Tour.
