New Off-Course Retail Report Now Available
Member report details recent gains in golf retail sector
Posted: June 20, 2024

As golf course development is up relative to recent years, so too is the world of traditional, off-course golf retail. To a lesser extent.

PGA Tour Superstore opened nearly 10 new locations across the country in 2023, from Estero, Florida, and Raleigh, North Carolina, to Torrance, California, and Boise, Idaho.

Golf Galaxy rolled out new stores in Hilton Head, South Carolina, and Port Saint Lucie, Florida, as well as areas like Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, and Middleton, Wisconsin. PXG continued its brick-and-mortar growth with new stores in Charlotte, Denver, Kansas City and Cincinnati.

Overall, the off-course golf retail sector increased for the third straight year in 2023 following more than a decade of decline amid industry consolidation and shifts in consumer behavior.

NGF members (VIP and above) can find more information and trends in the latest annual update on the off-course golf retail sector, a report that tracks supply changes and includes historical data and information about specialty club-fitters and sporting goods stores that sell golf equipment.
