June 2018 National Rounds Played
June is traditionally one of the heaviest months for rounds-played, along with July and August. June 2018 rounds were down a modest 1.2% compared to a year ago, so it actually improved the national year-to-date total to -3.3% through June (versus -4.1% through May).
Increases in rounds in the South Central region from Alabama to Texas and in the Mountain and Pacific regions helped offset decreases in the North Central and Mid-Atlantic regions. Rounds were stable to up in June along many parts of the Eastern seaboard, with the exception of Connecticut, Pennsylvania and other states around the nation’s capital (DE, MD, VA, WV).
Rounds in the Mountain and Pacific regions up were for the third consecutive month and continue to outperform last year, up 5% and 8% respectively on a year-to-date basis.
