Total U.S. Public Course Supply by State
While Florida and California have the most golf courses in total, it's Michigan that has the most public golf in the country. Michigan has a wealth of privately-owned daily fee public courses, over 650 in all. Florida and California run second and third in public supply, while the other states -- with the exception of Texas -- are in the more densely-populated Midwest or Northeast.
