The accompanying graphic plots 2022 rounds both against last year (2021 set an all-time record for the highest volume of play in U.S. history) as well as against the three-year, pre-pandemic average from 2017-19. While April play lagged somewhat, in part attributable to less favorable golf weather, and total year-to-date rounds are trailing 2021, the trajectory of play overall for the year is ahead of the average pace of the three years prior to the onset of the coronavirus.
