10-Yr Changes in MCO Categories
More daily fee courses work with third-party management companies than the other facility types because they comprise 56% of overall U.S. supply. But as the number of daily fee facilities has dwindled over the past decade, so to has the number of daily fee facilities working with MCOs. Meanwhile, the number of private clubs and municipal courses that enlist third-party management help has increased over the same 10-year period. Municipal golf has seen the biggest increase, as overall supply has increased slightly, while private facilities under outside management has also climbed despite a drop in overall supply.
